About Our Founder

Zack Gurard-Levin, PhD

Our founder brings firsthand experience launching and scaling life science startups. From pioneering the development of the SAMDI technology as a graduate student at the University of Chicago through expanding his skillset towards chromatin biology and cancer research at the Institut Curie in Paris, France, Zack maintained an interest in commercialization. As Chief Scientific Officer of SAMDI Tech, he increased its client base by 500%, served as PI on federally funded grants totaling over $4M, and guided the company towards its acquisition by Charles River Labs. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS).   

With a unique blend of scientific acumen and business insight, he excels at integrating these worlds to create compelling strategies. His specialty lies in communicating complex science with clarity and confidence, making it accessible and engaging for diverse stakeholders. Leveraging these skills, he has developed innovative marketing and business development approaches that position companies for growth in a competitive landscape.

Through his journey, one lesson stands above all: “Every Detail Matters.” Whether it’s refining a business pitch, designing a strategic plan, or fostering client relationships, he ensures that no element is overlooked. Zack lives in Chicago with his wife Nicole and Shiba Inu Kaiya. In addition to his science background, he’s a standup comic and writer, and has written a children’s book, Chloe Doesn’t Clam Up, available on Amazon.
